‘Kairos’ – meaning: ‘defining moment’.
This is a defining moment for Kairos in Soho.

The Board of Trustees has a fundamental role in the performance, development, growth and management of any voluntary or community organisation.

We are currently recruiting new board members.

We are seeking a good Treasurer in particular
to bring sound financial management and strategy skills to the board.

Some new members will come on board with many skills in place and others, we hope, who aspire to the vision, will come on board with personal experience and a commitment to learn and take Kairos in Soho through its next stage of growth. Be the difference.

Trustee Criteria

• You are aware of issues currently affecting LGBT people
• have a strong commitment to diversity and equality
• have some understanding of strategic and organisation development
• have good networking skills
• have well developed self-awareness in relation to prejudice and phobia, sexuality and personal support needs
• are aware of the unique role of the voluntary and community sector (VCS), with some knowledge of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender VCS
• are able to commit and aspire to the KiS vision, mission and values
• are able to commit on average to two hours per week, one meeting per month, one weekend per year and two one-off days per year for training and staff communication
• are able to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people
• are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT), or have in depth understanding and experience of issues affecting the lives of LGBT people

Every Sunday at 2pm KiS gives its informative and fun walk through queer Soho. Everyone is welcome but we always need people to act as tour guides.

If you are interested in Lesbian & Gay history come and join our team who show international tourists and locals the historic aspects of the queerest part of town. As a volunteer tour guide you will: become part of a fun & friendly team learn loads of fascinating facts about lesbian & gay history meet interesting people from all over the world ensure that our history is not lost help raise funds for the work of Kairos in Soho	Some of our current tour guides at KiS
