About Kairos in Soho

KiS is a community development organisation and registered charity. KiS’s vision of of a society where every lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) person is able to fully reach their aspirations, be well and live free from prejudice, harassment and discrimination.

Kairos in Soho’s mission is to provide space and opportunity with and for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and friends to gain support, grow, and affect wider social and strategic change.

Programme and Activities

• provide a safe and accessible LGBT space
• provide activities that develop community and enhance well-being
• provide activities that portray diverse LGBT life and historical context
• provide safe and affordable space and support for LGBT community organisations

Strategic Influence

• work with statutory partners to maximize their access to information and research concerning the health and social care context
• respond directly to policy consultations to ensure the inclusion of LGBT concerns
• develop or contribute to research concerning the LGBT community and organisations

LGBT Social Action Centre

• develop the feasibility study for an LGBT Social Action Centre in collaboration with Westminster City Council
• engage the community in all aspects of this study
• develop a viable, friendly and holistic Centre that delivers on community, policy and services
